Travel journal sketchbook with vintage Wind rose calendar on the hardcovers. The Wind rose calendar is printed with a professional printer on fine photo-archival matte paper with 80 lbs thickness- this is 300 grams/m2.
A wind rose is a graphic tool used by meteorologists to give a succinct view of how wind speed and direction are typically distributed at a particular location. Historically, wind roses were predecessors of the compass rose (found on maps), as there was no differentiation between a cardinal direction and the wind which blew from such a direction. Using a polar coordinate system of gridding, the frequency of winds over a time period is plotted by wind direction, with color bands showing wind speed ranges. The direction of the longest spoke shows the wind direction with the greatest frequency.

The fabric that wraps the hardcovers of this eco-friendly sketchbook is organic and its linen burlap.
The papers for crafting your journal will be 100% recycled Xerox papers great for dry and ink media, writing, and sketching.
You can use pastels, inks, pencils, pens, and markers on this paper.
What you see in the pictures is actually the 4 x 5.8-inch variation. Please choose your size from the options.
The Coptic stitched binding is sewn with cotton thread and it strongly tightens the pages and the hardcovers. The binding itself is a mindful observation to experience throughout your daydream and it is also easily opened! This binding is comfortable and opens to 180 degrees.
